The Narrows

Last weekend in addition to going to the concert we hiked the Narrows in Zion National Park. We had fun camping on a tarp with sleeping bags until it started raining on the second night. Thankfully some of the guys got into the cars, so the rest of us made a taco out of the tarp, and that kept us from getting wet. The Narrows were incredible. I had no idea there would be so much water, and such nice landscape. I also got to touch six squirrels! People feed them, so they are very used to humans. After getting home on Saturday, I also went to float the Provo River, and then went on a date where we played croquet in front of the Provo Library. Ah, the joys of college life during the summer.

A Single Secondhand Parachute

Last weekend I went to a Secondhand Serenade concert in St. George. The opening band was called Single File. After them, Parachute played. Parachute had a rockin' performance, and our group had fun getting the rest of the crowd excited (I had a number of middle school girls tell me I was awesome ... which I'm not sure is a good thing). By time Secondhand Serenade played we were a hand stretch away from the front. They were awesome, and even did a cool cover of Coldplay's "Fix You." After the show we went to In N' Out Burger and I had a delicious Neapolitan shake. It was a great Friday Night.

Manrichment

Here is the advertisement for Manrichment on Tuesday. I'll get some pictures up from it after it happens. I'm also going to Zion National Park to hike the Narrows and go to the Secondhand Serenade concert this weekend, so I'll try to get pictures up from that too. I've also included the only picture from my party, which happened once it was already shut down, and after I was chillin' in the hot tub. It's me and DJ Phaya (pronounced like fire). Anyway, enjoy.

Let's have some fun

In Elder's Quorum we've had some fun activities, and I've had a blast creating the advertisements for them. I only have Picasa and paint, so the work is a little crude. I also had a dance party for my birthday (which got shut down by the police ... haha). Anyway I've made these all at work, and now I'm working on my 'Manrichment' activity, it should be fun.

Life History

I'm in Oregon right now visiting family, and while I was looking through some old files on Mom's computer I found a history of my life which I had started a few years ago. I found some of the specific information very informative and fun. I'm going to include a few right now.

Friday July 18, 1986: At 12:23 a.m. I was born son of David Blaine Richards and Pamela Gay Julian at Flow Memorial hospital, delivered by Dr. Scott King. 8 lbs. 6 ounces, 21 inches long, third and last child, only son. Around 7:00 p.m. I was taken home to 3322 Valley View Denton, Texas 76201. Julieanne was four, and Stephanie was two. I left the hospital with only Richards on my hospital release, my parents did not decided upon a first or middle name till later.

Wed. February 6, 1991: Broke left arm in backyard, falling out of swing trying to pick nose. I remember going backwards, but mom thinks I went forward, because of the position she found me in. It took her about 5-min. to hear me, since she was inside.

Monday January 27, 1992: I lost my first tooth, it was the bottom left front tooth. It was at Norma’s house (Norma was one of mom’s friends, and she had a little boy too, and she would baby-sit me sometimes). I lost it while eating an apple. I remember watching ‘The Little Toaster that Could’ at their house.

Thursday June 4, 1992: Received perfect attendance award for my Kindergarten year. Important, because even when I had pink eye, mom made me go to school, and even went with me and sat in the back of the room, so I wouldn’t infect the other children. I remember that during this time we watched a movie about color (as in blue, purple and white) people.

December 1992: A salesperson working with dad took us out to Chuck E. Cheese, and Six Flags, and made us Christmas sweaters with our names on them. This was super cool and fun. I thought Chuck E. Cheese was better.

Saturday February 20, 1993: At 1:30 p.m. I had my first piano recital part at a Sonatina festival at Texas Woman’s University at Eberly Recital Hall, where I played Bright Red a song by Bastien. I had been playing for five months. I went first.

I hope you enjoyed that little glimpse into the specifics of my life, I know I sure did.

Wanna Get 'Frosty?'

This is a ridiculous video that I can't stop watching. As a by product of good advertising I have gone to Wendy's 5 times in the last month.
